The book I chose to do my novel study on was The Book Thief. I chose this book because it can relate to human rights and I had heard it was a really good book to read from other people. I enjoyed this book very much. The book is about what it was like in Germany during World War 2. The story starts with a young girl named Liesel, it shows her life and the struggles she faced. Some examples of the struggles she faced are; becoming an orphan at a young age, moving schools and towns, and getting used to having a new family. This book was an excellent read and I would recommend it to anyone that likes learning a little bit about some history or just wants a book that is hard to put down.

This book reminded me of the movie I did for my film review, The Boy in the Striped Pajamas. The first similarity is that both the main characters are young kids that live in Germany. Liesel and Bruno both are non-Jewish people who befriend a Jewish person. They're also both very oblivious to the problems around them, for instance Bruno had no idea that concentration camps existed and Liesel was very distraught about the fact that Max the Jewish boy they were hiding needed to be hidden and couldn't come out.
